Process to get Chartered - apply

Whenever you are ready to make a start on your application go to:

Choose Chartered Member MIChemE and select which (if any) registrations you would like to apply for in addition to your title as Chartered Chemical Engineer. Your progress can be saved for you to return to at a later point. 

You will need to provide details of:

  • personal eg address
  • academic qualifications
  • employment (past and present)

And upload:

  • curriculum vitae (CV)*
  • degree certificate(s)
  • technical report (where relevant)
  • competence and commitment report**

How much will it cost?

The application fee and approximate annual membership subscription will be provided before you fully begin the application.

What happens next?

You will receive confirmation that your application has been received and if it is immediately apparent that any further information or evidence is missing you will be contacted with specific instruction.

Your application will then start to go through the peer review process and you will be kept informed electronically once each stage has occurred. A flow chart with each stage of the review process is available on each of the relevant pages about technical reports and the Competence and Commitment report.

Minor revisions to the Competence and Commitment (C&C) report template (Section E) have been made in line with the IChemE CPD Policy 

Applications received from 1 March 2018 onwards must be completed on the new Competence and Commitment report template (Version 2).
